Wow more great stuff from Juanjo Guardino. I wish I'd retained from of my French from high school but oh well.
Some of friends and I have been writing comic companies to see if they'll look into acquiring the translation rights to Blacksad now that ibooks has folded.
oh, why oh why can't American artists and authors create works like Canales/Guarnido (or Herge, Frezatto, Torres et al)? Instead of true 'graphic novels' we get monthlies repackaged into a TBP and and graphic memoirs.
Sure, Maus and Fun Home are beautiful, but I'm personally tired of our memoir nation in general right now.
Arkonbey - im sure your post is old, and ima let you finish... but you're crazy. There ARE artists doing it JUST like blacksad. You maybe are just too lazy to go find it. If you honestly can say youve never seen anything like this state-side then you robably still rely on MTV, BET or the Radio to bring you new music versus going out there and finding it on your own.
Much like certain PAINTERS don't become well-known until they are older, same goes with comicbook artists and illustrators.

Very glad there's to be another Blacksad! But I really wish there was a better way to get the French-language version in the US.
